[comp.ai] Demise of comp.ai.digest/ Social Pr

I agree with Charles and the other poster: The unilateral, unannounced
decision to drop AILIST and the corresponding digest was grossly
irresponsible and reprehensible. For shame!

The digested version's posting of talk announcements, calls for
papers, and other events in the field served as one of the few
widely-read, electronic infrastructures for the community.

While I think it is fine for comp.ai to be full of all sorts of
discussions, I for one do not have time to participate, and badly need
the digested form that allows people to quickly find the information
they really need. To be invited to instead scour a dozen or so other
lists to find this information belies a fundamental misunderstanding
of the nature and purpose of digests.

So the question becomes: What public-spirited, responsible person
would like to take over doing the digesting?
