[net.unix-wizards] Program to read tapes in VMS BACKUP format?

Has anybody got one?  One that runs on 4BSD would be just great, but
I'm not choosey.  If I can't find one I think I might just write one,
so if you've tried and failed, I'm interested in hearing why.

John Carey of Monash University informed that he such a beast and posted
it to net.sources.  It's moncsker.351, "C Program to read VMS back up tapes".
