[comp.ai] ** Ontology and Knowledge Representation **

siping@cathedral.cerc.wvu.wvnet.edu (Siping Liu) (08/08/90)

In AAAI-90, There was an invited talk about the future of
Knowledge Representation (by Samuel Fuller).
One thing was predicted in 90's
was that "KR systems will eventually come with built-in
ONTOLOGIES". Since my poor knowledge of philosophy, I do
not understand what this is and what issues will follow
in this direction.

Can someone shed some light on this subject for me? Thanks.
