Philip Mullhaupt asks, "wouldn't the US Congress" meet the following requirements and thus be classified as 'intelligent': a) Able to learn b) Autonomous c) Able to reason d) Self-aware No, Philip, the US Congress clearly does NOT satisfy c) Able to reason. On a more serious note, one could inject e) Be a single organism, but that would rule out all those sci-fi aliens with only a "collective intelligence", and I don't think we want to do that.
