[comp.ai] Intelligent Tutoring Systems

deogun@unocss.UUCP ( ) (02/16/89)

I am looking for references on the above subject - preferably within the past
couple of years. Any information about existing and proposed implementations is
welcome.

Thanks for the help.

I'm starting some work on Intelligent Tutoring Systems/ Intelligent Computer
Assisted Instruction, concentrating particularly on modelling the user.

I'd be grateful if anybody could post/email any general or specific
references to books and papers in the area, or if anybody knows what
current research is underway and where it is happening. Also, if anybody
has some source code for any ITS/ICAI systems which they are
willing to let me look at, please email it! :-)

Thanks

Andrew Shires

I used to work for a company attempting to sell ITS/ICAI systems. I can name
several institutions in the UK:
UK Open University at Milton Keynes: contact Marc Elsom-Cook, or better go and
talk to him. He is one of the biggest names in Europe and can put you in
   touch with the others.

Kingston Polytechnic: Petros Gelepithis (last name probably mispelled)

Universities of Leeds and Lancaster; a small group at Sussex; Edinburgh:
their AI departments can all give you leads (I do not remember names off
   the top of my head).
