Waldron (Chair) K. Ishii G. Kinzel J. Chovan SPONSORS: Design for Manufacturing Institute, DEC. Wisdom Systems. In cooperation with ACM SIGART (approval pending). National Science Foundation (approval pending) GENERAL INFORMATION: The IntCAD91 Working Conference aims to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences related the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques in Computer-Aided Design. Participants will present and explore the state-of-the-art of Intelligent CAD systems, try to delineate future directions in both research and practice, and discuss ways to promote further developments. The conference is scheduled for four days, with the number of attendees carefully limited to forty. All papers submitted will be carefully reviewed. About twenty papers will be accepted for presentation. An ample amount of time will be made available for discussion after each presentation. The papers and the transcribed discussion will form the conference proceedings and will be published as a book. A Registration fee of about $350 will include preprints, lunches, and a conference dinner. Relevant topics would include: Designing with Features, Geometric Reasoning, Conceptual Design, Representing Structure and Function, Reasoning about Shape and Fit, Using Experience during Design, Improving Designs through Learning, IntCAD System Architecture. The International Program Committee is responsible for reviewing the papers submitted in order to ensure the highest possible standards. The committee has been chosen to represent a diverse cross-section of the world's leading experts on Intelligent Computer Aided Design. Previous IFIP WG 5.2 working conferences in Expert Systems and Knowledge Engineering in CAD have been held in Grenoble (1978), Budapest (1984), and Sydney (1987). Each conference in the series has resulted in a book published by the North-Holland Publishing Company. SUBMISSION: Receipt of papers will be acknowledged. A $50 submission fee must accompany all papers. This will be refunded if the paper is not accepted, and will be deducted from the conference fee if the paper is accepted. The check or money order, in US dollars, should be made out to "The Ohio State University". Five camera-ready copies of the paper (including an original) are due by Monday 4th February 1991. Notification of acceptance will be sent in May 1991, and revised versions will be due in July 1991. The length of the paper, including figures and references, must not exceed 25 pages. The papers must be in English. Papers should be sent to: Prof. Manjula B. Waldron IntCAD91 Biomedical Engineering Center, OSU, 270 Bevis Hall, 1080 Carmack Rd. Columbus, OH 43210-1091, USA.
