Masters of Science in Information Technology: Knowledge Based Systems Department of Artificial Intelligence University of Edinburgh This course retrains graduates from other disciplines so that they can become active practitioners in the feld of Knowledge Based Systems. The emphasis is on acquiring techniques for the design and construction of Knowledge Based Systems, enabling graduates of the course to apply their skills to practical applications or further research. The course is subdivided into four themes: Expert Systems Foundations of Artificial Intelligence Intelligent Robotics Natural Language each of which allows a different choice of course modules (including modules from other departments). During the period May - September inclusive, each student undertakes a major practical project, which can involve industrial collaboration. This course has been approved by the UK Science and Engineering Research Council for the tenure of Advanced Course Studentships.
