Although I have been told I am attempting the impossible I am searching for a copy of PARRY the paranoia simulation originally written by Kenneth Mark Colby at Stanford University around 1971. The original was written in MLISP for the PDP 6/10, though any latter version in a high level language would also be appreciated. PARRY, as described in the ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE JOURNAL volume 2 1971, was written as a medical study of paranoia. The program is the complement of of ELIZA an it is the patient and the user is the psychologist. It was designed as a simulation of a paranoid person with the view to fooling psychologists. The hope was that this would lead to better understanding of paranoia. It has advantages over Eliza in that it has a mood, and modifies responses accordingly. It also is able to talk on a conversation for a time where as Eliza can only ask you question about previous conversation. We want the program as part of an introductory lecture on AI. Please send any responses to me personally an I am having trouble accessing the news service at the moment.
