Hi, I'm working for developing ICAI in NTTS Co. Japan. I try to improve the Tutoring system. Specifically, I try to make the algorism of infering student model better. For example, maybe I can use Neural Network. But I haven't any information for it. Could anyone tell me about it? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. ************************************************************ NTT SOFTWARE CORPORATION HONG ZHANG E-mail:hong%nttsgw.yh.ntts.co.jp@uunet.uu.net 223-1 YAMASHITA-CHO NAKA-KU YOKOHAMA-SHI KANAGAWA 231 JAPAN TEL : +81 45 212 7562 FAX : +81 45 212 7581 ************************************************************

To learn more about ICAI, I would recommend reading some of the works of Bill Clancey, presently at the Inst. of Research on Learning, in Palo Alto, California. John Anderson has also done a lot of work in this area with a LISP tutor, which can be purchased in addition to a book on LISP (whose title escapes me) which he wrote. Clancey also wrote a book "Knowledge-Based Tutoring: The GUIDON Program." in 1987. You may want to look at the book "Foundations of Intelligent Tutoring Systems" by Polson and Richardson (1988).
