Subject: NEW MAILBOX: AI for EMAIL Thank you for your interest in my problem. I apologize for the delay in acknowledging your messages, other priorities here at Rock Island Arsenal (last minute suspenses, escorting general officers, etc.) reaked havoc on my schedule. I received a number of good ideas that I feel could be of interest to all in the AI (or non-AI) community. What I propose is to act as the "mailbox" for the subject of "Applying AI to EMAIL" or "Information Filtering." This week I will be publishing a summary of all the notes that I received so far from you as well as I will be replying separately to each one of your messages. If you know of anyone else that might benefit from this, drop me their email address in a short note or pick up the phone. This is a real world problem that is being attacked from different angles by education, commercial and government sources.
