If you guys need any help putting together a not-for-profit, for stargage I would be happy to help. I just did this with a friend. If all you need is a corporate umbrella to get tax deductions, I may even be able to help. (i.e. for deducting expenses incurred before the date of incorporation. You could maybe even treat the loaning of some equipment as a donation). The main trick to putting together a NFP corp. from your guys perspective is to get the articles filed as early as possible. The rest of the stuff is retroactive from this date. Its all really pretty boilerplate. We did it all from a Nolo Press book and it took about 100 hours ( this included a lot of typing you might avoid. Budget about 50 hours.) Let me know if you want more info.
