. I am using "rn.c,v 4.3.1.4" and I am very annoyed each time I read a message, an answer to which I have just finished reading. I am sure that there are VERY GOOD reasons why messages cannot be transmitted in the exact order they have been sent. But when I (or rather my site) have received some of them, why cannot "rn" propose them in the correct order, where "correct order" does not necessarily refer to the exact time they have been posted, but may just be a partial order, possibly based on referenced messages, something like "if mess1 contains a reference to mess2, and if we have received mess2, then propose mess2 before mess1" (note that the ordering of messages may depend on when you read them). It seems that such a simple scheme, while not solving everything, would remove ALMOST ALL disagreements related to that problem. - Does there exist a news software which solve the problem ? - Is there another solution (i.e. other than changing the software) ? How do you handle the problem ? - Can someone post a survey about the "good reasons" (for our education) ? (Probably this problem has already been much debated, but then I missed the discussion, and would like to hear the pros and cons. Note that I redirected follow-ups to news.software.b.)
