"Censor" implies condemnation and editing, neither of which this new newsgroup should provide. Building mer mer own "soapbox" is the best way for those who want to read what mes has to say to do so and not be annoyed with discussions about hooking UUCP up to Japan or whatever, and vice versa. >(not all of which I agree with :-) I just saved this so it wouldn't look like I was quoting anything out of context. >If Mark wants to talk about issues relevant to equality for women on >this group, that is Mark's right. In news.misc??!? This does not sound like a miscellaneous topic any more. Besides, issues relevant to equality for women usually would go in soc.women. >The fact that many people disagree with >Mark's ideas is, if anything, a good reason to *keep* Mark around. I have two responses to this: 1) No, I changed my mind, I only have one response. The one that was going to go here was too caustic. 2) [This is what I really think.] One of Mark's complaints is that mes keeps getting accounts of mers deleted from machines due to the sysop's disagreeing with what mes says. What sysop in the world would disconnect an account from someone who has their own newsgroup? Not me. (By the way, Mark, if ncsauxe ever gets plugged in, you can bet I'll give you an account on it.) This is the ultimate soapbox for Mark. Vote on that thought. _____ D. J. McCarthy
