Every few weeks I post articles to news.announce.newusers describing some history and useful information for users. Traditionally, I have also posted "diff" listings of some of these postings so that long-time users could tell when changes occurred and what those changes entailed. Recently, a couple of people have complained about my posting the diffs. I asked for mailed feedback. I got 11 responses: 4 said to stop posting the diffs to news.announce.newusers 3 said to keep posting the diffs to news.announce.newusers 1 suggested I post the diffs to a different group 1 suggested a different format for the diffs, but keep them in news.announce.newusers 1 person liked the diffs, but I couldn't tell from his response exactly what he recommended. Thus, due to the overwhelming feedback received, I'm going to continue as before. :-) -- Gene Spafford Dept. of Computer Sciences, Purdue University, W.
