I know this is going to sound like an odd request. I have gotten at least 100 or more notes of support on this issue in the last few days, and it's very nice of you folks, and everything, but: 1) It's causing dangerous inflation to my ego, and 2) It's causing dangerous inflation to my mailbox And as nice as it is to be loved, it's also nice to have free time. So thanks, everybody, but let's just let this thing die down. If you do send me mail, I'm afraid I just won't be able to reply. I have to get work done. To be fair, you've probably been filling up the mailboxes of Makowsky and Richmond etc. just as much or more. I'm sure they would like a break from it, too. Can we just agree to disagree on this matter? Matt Crawford is another matter. His encouragement that people flood my company's 800 number with money-wasting silent calls is criminal. I have no sympathy for him. I got only one blank call today, but if I get more, you can bet I'll move to investigate pressing charges. P.S.: To be fair, please don't flood me with your best racist jokes right now. I'm sure this is not what our pals planned, but the result of all this has been many people sending me their favourite nasty jokes. I will post all these, in time, if they're funny, but it would just be spiteful to do them all at once right now.
