I wonder if part of the uproar against most forms of moderation, is the fact that any moderation involves winowing out the chaff from the wheat. Could it be, some of the people protesting are afraid that their articles will be considered chaff? Thus if the article is rejected, it might deprive the poster of his/her share of glory. How many people protesting Geoff's scheme follow national politcs by reading a newspaper, or watching TV? Aren't these media selling moderation and condensing of the all of the congressional debates. In general, most of the raw input is available in the Congressional Record, or by watching many hours on both CSPAN cable channels. -- Michael Meissner, Data General.
