It strikes me that a very interesting statistic to go along with the top-25 posters and the arbitron statistics would be a "top-25 KILL-file targets" list. Maybe it would create some humility among some of the more rash posters on the net, to realize that so many people considered them fools. Of course, the statistic might be more interesting if you established a rule that no one listed in a KILL file should have his KILL files counted; this might prevent the presumably-strange predilections of the Mr. X's from warping the statistics. Then again, I could argue for leaving all the stuff in. A program to do this could be based on the arbitron program. Hmmm. I recently decided to stop suffering the fools in rec.arts.comics silently, and am now announcing to the group when someone gets added to my KILL file -- just so they KNOW someone has given up on them. I hope others take up the gauntlet, either publicly or privately, just to make sure folks know what they think about them. Without further ado, here is my kill file: /webber/h:j /brahms.berkeley.edu/h:j /tim@hoptoad.uucp/h:j /nick@hp-sdd.HP.COM/h:j /omega@ut-ngp.UUCP/h:j Please note that in at least one case an entire site has disappered from my existence -- who belongs to that machine is left as an exercise for the reader... enjoy! I'm looking forward to seeing who else gets on The List (and how many times I show up. If I don't p*ss off a few folks, I'm not doing my job...) chuq Chuq Von Rospach chuq@sun.COM Delphi: CHUQ We live and learn, but not the wiser grow -- John Pomfret (1667-1703)
