I recently tried to apply the netnews patches to the news source files, and everything went smoothly for patches 1, 2 and 3 (I just cd-ed to the source directory, and typed 'patch < patch1', 'patch < patch2', etc.), but strange things started to happen when I applied the remaining patches, 4-14. It seems that patch kept rejecting patches to inews that were to apply to lines near line 160 in inews.c. The patches in question were not already applied, and in one case (the first one to occur), the patched source text was exactly the same as the source text that it was to replace. Has anyone else had such problems? Should I just ignore them and compile?
