vnews and readnews skips unread articles but updates .newsrc as if they were read. No matter what I try it always skips over them. My option line in .newsrc is set with: options -n all,!all.test,!control,!junk,!to.all I even removed my option line, but did not help. $NEWSOPT is not defined and I no not use any option on the command line (although I did try vnews -n newsgroup, but it all skipped the articles. The articles being skipped appear in another newsgroup which is in my .newsrc. They are also unread in that group. If I read that group, I get it. The only thing I can figure out is that if an article appears in more than one newsgroup, it will only read it as part of the first one defined in the article's header. Is this true?
