I think you miss the entire point. Most public access sites are as altruistic as it gets. PORTAL charges a flat fee each month, which is not anywhere near enough for them to be making a proffit off of anyone who uses the system much at all. I doubt if it even really pays for itself. Well, makes a proffit, I am fairly certain, based on their charges. I have no accounting data from either of these, but I have an idea of the costs of running such a system, and they are not cheap. JJ had as much accountability to PORTAL as most of the students I know at some of the Universities on the net. Also, if your really worried about accountability, worry about what somebody's embittered employee might post as he resigns! That could be truly upsetting to management when THIS COMPANY DID XXX and YYY and ... hits the net! Can we drop the Let's hang JJ, Let's hang JJ and PORTAL, Let's hang everyone discussion? Owen
