Any way that I can get this solved? Is anyone else getting this?

It's because flatline seems to think comp.std.misc and comp.std.c are
moderated groups. Both have been changed to unmoderated. Control
messages were sent around changing them, but flatline is apparently
either running some old software that doesn't understand how to
change mod to unmod, or else isn't getting news reliably.

If everyone would take a minute to do
	!egrep "^comp.std" /usr/lib/news/active
and see if there's a "y" or "m" at the ends of these two newsgroups,
you'd do the net a big favor. These groups should say "y", not "m".
Just editing the file with a text editor will fix your one site.

You have no idea how much mail is flooding into cbosgd aimed at these
two newsgroups. The ones with bogus return addresses get dumped into
my mailbox. I finally got sick of it and pointed them at /dev/null.
Poor old OSGD would sure appreciate it if you'd take the load off.
Not to mention the extra error messages that will crop up July 1
when the external links go away.

I tried connecting to "uunet.uu.net"s SMTP server, and found that, while it
didn't know about "comp-std-misc", it did know about at least one user on
"uunet", so it may not be a problem with the "sendmail" prgram.

Either there is supposed to be "comp-std-misc@uunet.uu.net" and
"comp-std-c@uunet.uu.net" addresses, in which case the aliases file on "uunet"
may be wrong, or there is *not* supposed to be such an address, in which case
whatever system is trying to gateway USENET messages to those addresses is
wrong. I don't know which is the case, and thus I don't know how to solve
this.

While you are at it, do the same for comp.os.os9. (It was recently
changed to unmoderated.) I got several bounces from sites having it
marked as moderated.

Bingo. Newsfeed was intermittent for a long period of time. I had
both groups marked as moderated.

Sorry for the trouble, if it caused any.
