I'm running news on our Sun 3/260 file server and everytime our newsfeed calls us up and ships us articles he gets back the following: uuxqt cmd (rnews ) status (exit 0, signal 0) Sometimes he gets one per session and sometimes lots. I've ensured that our uux understands the -z option (the manpage says it does). I've even tried remaking news substituting -n for -z in defs.h for uux. The news spool directory has over 160MB free in the partition (which is also where /usr/lib/news is) so I don't think its a space related problem. We're running SunOS 3.5. Any other Sun sites have this kind of problem? Please e-mail as I'm posting this on my parent company's host and am obviously not getting news at them moment. Your netnews feed is not invoking uux with -n or -z, which is why he would be getting back mail notifications of rnews's exit code from you - he's not asking that they be suppressed. This assumes, of course, that your uuxqt really does understand "N" and/or "Z" in the X. files (but you said that your uux does, and that's a pretty good indicator). Erik E.
