No... the phrase should read "If the ONLY reason for being impolite and rude
to someone in a certain way *is because of* their religion, race...sex,
then it MAY be discriminatory depending upon the circumstances involved".
Otherwise, the only thing that the offender may be guilty of is rudeness
or bad taste. How come the members of the Ku Klux Klan don't get sued for
calling black people 'niggers'???

The people that are refusing to call you 'he' and 'him' are probably doing
so because of YOU, Mark, not because they discriminate against women. The
bulk of them are probably tired of listening to all your crap. Why don't
you grow up, change your attitute, try being civil to everyone on the net
(even the men), and see if that doesn't bring about a change in the whole
situation?!?!?

Oh, I suppose you could call in a complaint on anyone, at any company,
for any reason, customer or not... except for my company :-) You would
be complaining to me :-)

In the first place, nobody is putting anybody's company in any position
of liability by picking on you. I know that this fact is hard for you
to live with. If I worked for AT&T (or whoever you seem to be threatening
to contact), I would probably like it if you called my supervisor to
complain. After he talked with you, I am sure that I would never have
anything to worry about from your future complaining :-)

Another thing... nobody's going to sue you, unless you file a lawsuit
(of a frivolous and harassing nature) against them. They have no more
of a cause of action against you than you have against them. Nobody has
a "right" to "kick someone in the face", including you, Mark.

Grow up, Mark

WHY?!?! You ask "WHY". If "Mark" stopped posting this shit, she'd have nothing
at all to post. What the hell else does she ever post? She makes "JJ" look
like a saint!

Let's face it. Not a damned this is going to come of this "lawsuit". She
doesn't have the balls (no pun intended) to file a lawsuit of this type. If
she did, show would have gone and done it, and not be crying on the net. This
is all bull shit designed to stur up the net. Why everyone flamed poor JJ
while we tolerate this woman I'll never know.

I would appreciate it if someone could show me how to use those "KILL" files
to kill any article that had "MES" or "Mark Ethan Youknowwho" ANYWHERE in it
(body or header). Many thanks.

Ditto. Sorry to post this crap to the net. I mostly read and rarely post,
but this time it got my goat.

Um, folks, can we all please start referring to the "jj" who posted
the begging article as jj@cup.portal.com?

The number of instances of confusion are steadily growing, and lots
of people just don't bother to make the distinction between the various
'jj' people on the net.

Look, one fellow at SF USENIX told me "Oh, you're the OTHER jj,
I was wondering how well you'd fall off this wall". I am STILL
getting mail directed to the jj@cup.portal.com from people who
seem to want to gloat (i.e. 'Hey, fella, drop out of school yet, since
your tuition didn't get paid?" and other such rot), and the CONSTANT
failure of people, even in news.*, to make the distinction, isn't
helping.

So, GET YOUR *(&^(*&^ JJ's STRAIGHT!
