Bad idea.  Very few people log in as "usenet" or "news" allatime,
and having to do an 'su' just to post a note is too much overhead.
Plus, it's hard on the readers -- I wanna see what rick@seismo posts,
not usenet@uunet...

I didn't say "root" or "usenet" , I said news adminstrator.. Having the software
check for a uid would be sufficient. It's in the source,luke.

And I said compile news with FASCIST defined and you get exactly that
behavior.  It's in TFM, Len.

Let's only propose changes we can implement.  Do you really think
you're going to get thousands of news administrators to patch their
code to make this change?  Lotsa luck; we still have people running
2.9 news out there.

On the other hand, all that it takes to make news.admin moderated is
to send out a control message.  This is doable, though it's debatable
whether we can do it.  But changes in policy that require every admin
to change his or her software are hopeless.
