In response to yet another flame-fest regarding soc.women, some people decided that it was time for a moderated group to discuss feminism (thereby, it is hoped, taking the most controversial lines of discussion out of soc.women.) This was discussed in news.groups about a month ago. (If you have any questions or concerns about the proposal, please email me and I'll send a clearer proposal.) One thing on which we are hung up is that we want a group of moderators. Now, this is important--it is NOT that every article (or even any article) would be okayed by more than one person. We want a committee of moderators so that there is less work for any individual. We would like to have what amounts to regional moderators. That is, the group would have different aliases at different backbone sites--mail which went through some sites would go to moderator A, other sites moderator B, and so on. This may well be impossible, but it seemed the best of the various options discussed. Are there backbone administrators who would be willing to help with this? (By the way, the other two options which we rejected were: having an account at one site which everyone logs on to; having an alias at one backbone site which sent the first X messages to moderator Z, the second to moderator B, and so on.) do this is to have different aliases at different backbone sites -- -Trish "and the whole chorus throbbing at our ears (919)230-0809 like midges, told us nothing... skyler@ecsvax.uncecs.edu nothing we needed to know..." -A.
