Simple Minds - "New Gold Dream" This is one of two "perfect" (all tracks are great) albums I own (the other is Kate Bush's "The Kick Inside"), and therefore, I think it's the best album of 1983. Their new single, "Waterfront", is excellent too. Any other Simple Minds fans out there?

I'd vote for Peter Gabriel's album "Security" for the best of 1983, but I bought it in September 1982. Meanwhile, I cast a vote for Big Country's "The Crossing." British Isles folk style with rock instrumentation.
