[news.admin] Would rn work on a read-only NFS news volume?

Scenario:

Two Sun's connected by Ethernet, one with B news installed and it
exports its news volume *read-only* over NFS, the other has only rn
installed but can mount the news volume frm the first using NFS.
The second machine is not diskless, but it doesn't have a lot of
free space.

Question:

Is having *just* rn on the second machine sufficient to allow users
on it to *read* news?  (We don't need to worry about posting for now.)
