Well now it works. I can now insert valid RFC1036 header lines in my messages. The problem was that the s/w that converts a message from FTSC format to Usenet format assumed the whole message to be the message body. It would then insert a few of the buit-in header lines such as To:, Subject:, Organization, etc. It left out the following: Reply-To:, Followup-To:, References:, Keywords:, Summary:. When I entered these manually the conversion would always place a blank line in front of them. The kludge I made was to insert a ^B in front of the first header line that I add to the beginning of the message, followed by the other header lines, followed by a blank line. After my conversion program places the message in my outbound directory I run a program I wrote to find the newline/^B and delete them. The result is that I can now manually add all proper header lines. This is a temporary kludge I can use until the authors of UFGATE have the time to address the RFC1036 compatibility. For all those who use the UFGATE system to gate mail and news between Fidonet systems and Usenet, send mail and I'll mail you the kludge. -- Jeff Sheese - via FidoNet node 1:109/116 UUCP: ...!netsys!jsheese!jeffery ARPA: jeffery@jsheese.FIDONET.ORG (I am sole owner.
