Ed, and anyone else, SCO has free diskettes with the compiled news programs
on them.  It comes with the manual pages in nroff'ed format.  Call SCO Tech
support and ask for "Usenet News, Xenix Release 2.2, [...], Fix $xnx064".
It is a two floppy set (was) available only on 96 tpi tar format (1.2 Meg
Floppy format.

They took two days to arrive.
