Someone is flooding the net with old messages and it's getting somewhat tiring cleaning up after them. Here's an example of the problem: Path: uci-ics!ucla-cs!elroy.jpl.nasa.gov!decwrl!purdue!tut.cis.ohio-state.edu!pt .cs.cmu.edu!rochester!rit!tropix!moscom!ur-valhalla!uhura.cc.rochester.edu!sunyb cs!rutgers!ucsd!ames!lll-winken!uunet!allbery From: allbery@uunet.UU.NET (Brandon S. Allbery - comp.sources.misc) Newsgroups: comp.sources.misc Subject: v07i043: CRISP release 1.9 part 22/32 Message-ID: <58151@uunet.UU.NET> Date: 22 Jul 89 23:27:13 GMT The above header is from one of the duplicate articles received today. The original article header looks like: From: allbery@uunet.UU.NET (Brandon S. Allbery - comp.sources.misc) Newsgroups: comp.sources.misc Subject: v07i043: CRISP release 1.9 part 22/32 Message-ID: <58151@uunet.UU.NET> Date: 18 Jun 89 23:27:13 GMT Sorry there's no Path: -- keepnews eats it. At any rate, _someone_ along the path in the first header above is initiating this. My expires are now taking all night due to having to run expire -p and my history file is getting huge because I have to remember articles for 90 days now (maybe more if this keeps up). Could all the members of the Path above please check their software and see why this is happening? Thanks much. -- Mark Nagel UC Irvine, Department of Information and Computer Science ARPA: nagel@ics.uci.edu UUCP: ucbvax!ucivax!nagel
