Various votes were taken, people have fought, died, etc. and news.newusers.questions is now reality. But we still have news.announce.newusers. It would probably make more sense to regroup the hierarchy for consistency, e.g. news.newusers.announce or news.newusers.info, still moderated, spaf in charge. The one thing having a "newusers" dichotomy creates is confusion for new users.
