OK, this one's strange enough to deserve some explanation. I sent out
a sendsys in the gnu distribution, to take a census and see what the
connectivity looks like. (Update: about 27 hours after issuing the
sendsys, we have 2510262 bytes of sys files, comprising 1208
responses. Stats will be on gnu.config after responses stop coming
in, sometime next week) Anyway, it seems that one of the responses
either (a) arrived while sendmail was chewing through a new aliases
file, or (b) bounced in some other way. Somehow, it got turned around
again with "From: News Admin" (the news administrator somewhere).
Some mailer thought that was a personal name, and offered the favor of
turning the space to a dot and trying News.Admin as a mail destination
here. Our mail system turns mail messages addressed to dotted names
(with appropriate first elements) into news in the indicated
newsgroup. So, after lots of traveling, that gnu sendsys response
mail finally got turned into an article in news.admin.
Networks are weird...
