comp.protocols.tcp-ip.eniac illustrated clearly at the time that there was a backbone, it had backbone, and it used it. For most issues, these three facts are no longer true (try going off the deep end and you just may see it coagulate again). -- p.s. eniac wasn't the only one that got axed after a good vote.
