Hello, I need some help regarding installation of nn and nntp. Can I have the usenet news on my machine's disks ? If yes, what is the procedure of doing that ? If no, what do I install and how do I install the req'd software ? Also, where can ask questions regarding rn/rrn ? Any and all help is welcome and will be appreciated, Merci d'avance, Ramanendra Ravi. raman@multi.ee.usu.edu

The fact that you were able to post a message implies that you (probably) already have access to news somewhere. Is there any reason why you need to install news locally as well? And are you willing to devote the disk space to it? |> If yes, what is the procedure of doing that ? |> If no, what do I install and how do I install the req'd software ? I would suggest you start by reading the monthly posting to news.announce.newusers and news.admin entitled "USENET Software: History and Sources". If that posting has already expired at your news site, then you can wait until it's posted again, or send me E-mail and I'll send you a copy. |> Also, where can ask questions regarding rn/rrn ? News.newusers.questions is probably the best group for this sort of thing, since there isn't a newsgroup specifically devoted to rn/rrn (Of course, the natural question is, "Why not?" When is someone going to post a CFD for news.software.rn? :-). -- Jonathan Kamens USnail: MIT Project Athena 11 Ashford Terrace jik@Athena.MIT.EDU Allston, MA 02134 Office: 617-253-8085 Home: 617-782-0710
