<munch> OK, I give up. How is the HIDDENET stuff supposed to work. The hub of my problem is three machines, which are not maximally connected. Machines A and B talk to each other over ethernet - I use sendnews/uurec between these two. Machine C has a UUCP link to machine B, no direct communication with machine A, and gets news from the outside world. I'm running news 2.11 with patches 1-3 installed, and I need all these machines to appear as a single site to the outside world (their names are not unique in the uucp world, and some mailers seem to shortcut paths, resulting in mail destined for us being sent all over the world). I want news coming from C to be sent on to A by B, news from A to be sent to C by B, and news from B to be sent to both A and C. The only way I can see to get this done is to have the site name, A and C in B's sys file, but this means all news from A or C is sent via B to A & C, and the originator then rejects it as a duplicate article. This is a nuisance over the ethernet, but is painful over the UUCP link. Am I overlooking something ? Am I just being thick ? How is this supposed to work ? Does it only work for a maximally connected network where the site entry in the sys file on each machine sends news to each of the other machines ?
