[news.sysadmin] Sci.med.aids Connectivity and Availability.

dgreen@CS.UCLA.EDU (Dan R. Greening) (06/12/87)

Based on statistics for mod.announce from Brian Reid at DEC, we can expect
the availability of "sci.med.aids" to be somewhat limited for the first
couple of months of operation.

The backbone carries sci.med.aids. If you are not receiving
postings to sci.med.aids or your host does not have sci.med.aids
defined, it is likely that one of two things are interfering:

 1. An intermediate host between a backbone host and your host has
not yet modified their tables to include sci.med.aids.

 2. Your system administrator has not yet modified your host's table
    to include sci.med.aids.

My suggestion: Check with your local system administrator. If
sci.med.aids IS defined at your site, perhaps she/he will look into
possible problems with an intermediate host. Otherwise, maybe she/he
just hasn't gotten around to installing it, and will when you ask.

If you don't have access to "sci.med.aids", post AIDS related articles
to "sci.med" or "soc.motss". I will repost those to sci.med.aids, so
people who have access to sci.med.aids won't have to hunt through
other newsgroups to find this material.

I won't continue that time and bandwidth consuming process after a
month or two, so talk to your sysadmin if you have problems. Thanks.
