I'm trying to set up a local area network with a MicroVax running 4.3bsd acting as the UUCP gateway to the world. The MicroVax has taken over the name "acornrc" from the old Vax 11/750 running 4.2bsd, which is now an internal host called "stlvax". acornrc is running smail, using the usual smail sendmail.cf. stlvax is using the SMI sendmail.cf.subsidiary file and using ether and SMTP to talk to acornrc. When logged in to stlvax, If I try "mail acornrc!stlvax!bob", I get returned mail from acornrc with a sendmail error message 553 host name configuration error Obviously, mail is flowing both ways enough to return an error! What does this mean, and how do I fix it? Thanks, -- Bob Weissman Internet: bob@acornrc.uucp UUCP: ...!{ ames | decwrl | oliveb | apple }!acornrc!bob Arpanet: bob%acornrc.uucp@ames.arc.nasa.gov
