During the weekend of May 20, 1988 Psuvax1 will switch names, duties, and internet addresses with Shire. Both machines will be down for most of the weekend while modems and other hardware are moved to their new homes. The change means that Shire (the VAX 11/750) will be renamed to Psuvax1 and will assume the duties of Psuvax1 (news transfer, uucp, mail host, mail routing, printer queue). Psuvax1 (the VAX 11/780) will be renamed to Shire until the Sun4 arrives and is installed. The Sun4 will then be named Shire and Psuvax1 (the VAX 11/780) will go away. During that weekend and shortly thereafter, there may be some confusion on the various networks. This is a warning. Although we haven't seen any major problems with the transfer, mail and news might not be transmitted properly. Please direct any comments or questions to me via e-mail. Thanks.
