Since bringing up our new machine which is running System V Release 3.0 (our
old machine ran Release 2.0) pathalias no longer seems to work properly.
It always used to work okay on ou old machine.
I have checked permissions and accessability of files and all seem to be
okay.
The symptoms seem to be that pathalias just runs forever, consuming all of
the CPU time it can, but never produces any network paths. When I run it
with the verbose option to get some comments, I get output concerning
rehashes. The output looks like this:
rehash into 2039
rehash into 3067
rehash into 5113
rehash into 8179
It never gets much further than this but consumes vast quantities
of CPU time.
Can anyone give me any idea of what is happening here and how I can fix it?
For what it is worth, I am running a machine based on the Nat Semi 32332.
