[news.sysadmin] Why am I getting so many messages like this?

wwm@pmsmam.uucp (Bill Meahan) (08/06/90)

Lately, I've been getting dozens of control messages like this one, all from the
same source. Cnews here rejects these as 'unsafe to execute' so no damage at
this site.

Has someone out there got a broken news program/reader/mailer? Is there a
'nasty' out there tying to do some unkind things to the net?

			******* OR ********
Is the problem on MY end because I do not subscribe to news.software.anu-news?

Problem understood, it was an administrator's error. He has apologized.
