[news.software.b] Problem with HIDDENNET in 2.11

sater@botter.UUCP (sater) (11/28/86)

We just installed news 2.11 on one of our machines just to see whether
it works out ok.
It seems pretty good, but we found one annoying feature, which might
stem from not having read or understood the documentation, but anyhow..
We run with HIDDENNET = "cs.vu.nl"
and the sys file starts with the entry
ME:all::
like it used to. What happens now is that the news will be distributed
to cs.vu.nl with the standard uux command so that uucp will complain
about cs.vu.n unknown (7 char lim!)
Why is news trying to send news to itself?

We patched it up for now by doing this.
ME:all::true

But this is a gross hack, doesn't anyone know something better?
