If a site does not want a group, then its feed can prevent it from being unecessarily transmitted by prefixing the group with '!' in the sys file. However, consider an article posted to multiple groups, say A and B with gp. A appearing first in the list of groups. If gp. A is not being transmitted and gp. B is, it appears that the article is sent as if posted in gp. A and then linked from gp. B. That is, physical storage takes place in the spool directory of gp. A. (At least, this is what seems to be happening at one of our neighbouring sites.) This leads to confusion. Can it be corrected?
