I have been getting several of these messages: inews: rnews failed, status 11. Batch saved in /usr/spool/news/87010606411d9d inews: rnews failed, status 11. Batch saved in /usr/spool/news/87010606441dca These have been showing up at a rate of three or four per day (it's hard to say as the volume of news arriving at bigtex has fluctuated wildly in the last week or two). This has shown up even more infrequently: inews: Article <227@bigtex.uucp> locked up These are mailed to me as a result of cron and placed in the errlog (minor suggestion: if stderr is not a tty, there's not point in printing error messages that are going into the errlog anyway). What's "status 11" and what's "locked up"? I'm running 2.11 news patchlevel 3. -- James R.
