I have a couple of questions:
1) A recent (dramatic) increase in news traffic has caused our news
partition to overflow several times. The resulting problem is that
articles which couldn't be fitted in the news directory get created
anyways. I assume that, even tho' the log file records the error,
News thinks the article has arrived, and therefore it won't be
transmitted again. Also, and this is just plain annoying, rn sees
the created file, tries to display it, and then, well, there's nothing
to display. There's just this null article. The question is: is there
something I can do to get news/rn to handle this better?
2) I have notices a lot of "cannot reread article" messages in the log
file. They don't seem to be related to 1). Any ideas what causes
that?
