I just recently helped another site get news going. Actually, he did all the work, I just pointed out a few things. Anyway, the inews.c UNLINK(ACTIVE, bfr); bug line got him (I am 4.3BSD). That is now solved. But a question that I had is why something like this happens: inews -C news.lists moderated < /dev/nul causes this: inews -n n.ctl -c newgroup n m -d local -a "person@site.UUCP" After the UNLINK bug was fixed, the above seems to work, but I wonder why. On my 4.3BSD system, the same input would create the following: inews -n news.lists.ctl -c newgroup news.lists moderated -d ..... The person is running what is known as GRC Python/32. It is a SysVR2 for the National Semiconductor 32000 processor. Any ideas as to what is going on would be appreciated.
