I noticed the following header in a mod.announce article: Followup-To: poster Is there a well-defined description of how to treat this? My understanding is that since the article was in a moderated newsgroup, postnews should mail any followup to the moderator, BUT the moderator would like followups to instead get mailed to someone mentioned in one of the headers. Yes? No? If so, which one should we go with -- Sender, Reply-To, or From -- all of them have some merit. the Followup-To: header line lists newsgroups to which the posting should be followed up, NOT the mail address of the person to whom you should reply. That's what Reply-To: is for. Erik E. Fair ucbvax!fair fair@ucbarpa.berkeley.edu
