*** I'm having a problem compiling inews.c (version 2.11, no patches) on a Masscomp 5600. The complier just never stops (i.e. goes into some kind of infinite loop). Any body have any hints ?!?!? P.S. And I never had a problem even before applying any patches. Here are some things to watch out for when building news on a Masscomp.
1. Use the definitions compatable with USG (AT&T System V).
2. Do NOT use the LOCKF or FLOCK feature as it is largely broken
on RTU.
3. You may or may not ( per your wish) use the dbm library. I do, but
I have also used the directory database approach (for the history file)
and that works well.
If you can provide more specifics, I can give more help.
Please send them to comp.sys.masscomp so other masscomp users can
benefit.
