The last I recall hearing, the `NNTP suite' (nntpd, rrn, and friends) had not yet been made to work correctly with News 2.11. I want to get osu-eddie and other local systems up to current snuff, but we're still at 2.10.3 because many users use rrn and I plan to set up Internet NNTP news feeds soon. We're about to add a bunch (200) of new Suns and new Sun users and I'd rather do the upgrade sooner than later. Have I missed any announcements? Can I get a new version via FTP? -=- Bob Sutterfield, Department of Computer and Information Science The Ohio State University; 2036 Neil Ave. Columbus OH USA 43210-1277 bob@ohio-state.{arpa,csnet} or ...!cbosgd!osu-eddie!bob soon: bob@aargh.cis.ohio-state.edu

Both NNTP V1.3 and V1.4 BETA work fine with News 2.11 (patchlevel 8). I'm
pretty sure any version of News at 2.10.3 or later is OK. I'm running NNTP
under Ultrix V1.2 & V2.0 using both TCP/IP and DECnet.
