Well, I dunno if this is the best place to ask, but here goes. I have rn working on this machine (finally), with all 40 or so patches. I thought it was smart about showing articles more than once, but I keep seeing articles, with Xfef: lines, shown in every newsgroup they belong to. I'm running 2.11 news. Anyone have an idea what's what?

I'm running 2.11 news. As far as I understand the situation, the patches to rn (and to news) that handle cross-references deal with what happens when you read an article; at that time its clones get marked as read as well. But if you use the rn "catch up" command ('c') to mark everything in a newsgroup as read, it certainly seems as if it doesn't mark all the clones as read. This can be considered a feature or a bug depending on your preference. :-) -- Rich Kulawiec, rsk@s.cc.purdue.edu, s.cc.purdue.edu!rsk
