Ever since I applied patches 9 though 11 I've been getting several of these error messages: expire: Unparsable date "31 Dec 69 23:59:59 GMT" every time expire is run. Anyone else have this problem and/or know the cure? I searched all the articles here and that Date itself does not appear in any. I do not know why you would be getting these, but I do know that the time 1 Jan 70 00:00:00 GMT is the zero time base used by most UNIX systems. I don't know what's causing the problem, but it may help you to know that
that is the date corresponding to time = '-1', since the UNIX epoch for
time is 1 Jan 70 00:00:00 (time == 0)

I noticed this also and did a little checking in the spool directory. The
following headers is what I found (NOTE the Expires: lines). Don't see
any pattern that's causing this unless I'm blind but maybe someone else
can see it.
